Brixton Broadcast: Brixton at the 2020 Paradise Road Show in Palm Springs

Brixton at the 2020 Paradise Road Show in Palm Springs

January 21, 2020
We recently set up our pop-up trailer in the Palm Springs desert and spent a warm January weekend filled with classic American cars, motorcycles, and hot rods from 1975 and earlier — all while sipping cold beverages, enjoying good music, and appreciating great company. Not a bad way to kick off the year.

We really get behind the heart of Paradise Road Show, an annual event that gives people opportunity to revisit simpler times when quality and aesthetic went hand in hand. To appreciate days gone by of an era that was not so arrested by busy-ness and habitual scrolling or screen-time. It’s always refreshing to see people milling about without an agenda, meeting new people, and checking out creations that these builders spend countless hours perfecting. In addition to the cars and motorcycles, vendors’ selections range from patterned vintage pieces to handmade leather products and quality collections from local brands. Not only can we get behind the experience of the show, but the careful curation of entries is a work of art that can only come from the hands of professionals.

Our friends, Lana MacNaughton, Adri Law, and Chase Stopnik, founded Paradise Road Show in 2016 and have seen it steadily grow each year into what it is today — attracting both countrywide and worldwide visitors. We’re grateful to be part of the experience, and we also had a great time partnering with them to put on the Saturday night after party.

Two amazing DJs, Rose Knows and Raw Victoria, kicked the night off with some tunes to loosen up the crowd. They were followed by two car-culture appropriate cover bands, Teenage Goo Goo Muck and Fauxtörhead, who took the driver’s seat for the rest of the evening and did both bands, The Cramps and Motörhead, justice. The crowd got weird and so did we; which was definitely encouraged by the provocative performance by the lead singer of Teenage Goo Goo Muck in homage to Lux Interior. A great night for all, no matter your show-going preferences.
